Howard 'Kaneonuskatew' Poole

Personality:

Howard is the kind of guy who would look out after you, no matter what kind of person you are. (He however gets easily irritated at and dislikes bratty and/or lazy people). His job as a Cowboy is very much like a Ranger, so he protects people and helps them. He developed a protective kind of side because of that.

In and outside the job Howard is reliable and you can count on him to get most jobs done. He's diligent, but quite stubborn. He likes to stick by his decisions and isn't budged easily once he makes a decision.

He's a thrill seeker, and won't hesitate to go on a daring trip. (well it has to be at least 60% safe for him). Luckily Howard isn't daring enough to be called reckless. He knows to an extent how dangerous something is, and his limits.

Overall he's a friendly dude once you get to know him. He enjoys giving you facts about the dangerous creatures that live in Terran Alto and Moeras. Howard also apparently has many different stories to tell about his adventures in both Terran Alto and Moeras- it changes every time.
He's still quite a mysterious guy even if you become his friend- it'll become apparent that he might not tell you the truth about himself. He tells his age differently to other people, and different stories. Nobody really knows why Howard does this, but it's probably for his own amusement.
Only few close friends actually know some true facts about him. The rest: are they myths?

Brief History:

Howard was born and raised in Terran Alto. He lived a fairly normal life, except the fact that he always wanted to explore and face the dangers of the world below. He carried his childhood dreams of protecting people from wild pokemon to his plight on becoming a Cowboy.

It took hundreds of round-ups of Mareep, Tauros and Miltank for years before he got promoted to a higher level of Cowboy. He experienced a bit of trauma during those times. As a youngster he was usually over-confident, obnoxious, and his ego was very inflated.
He excelled at all the requirements of a Cowboy, but his mentor did not give him his title when others received it. The reason was that he was still arrogant, and that could endanger him and others.
Young Howard became frustrated and upset and sped off to try and prove himself by sneaking off with the older Cowboys on an important job to deliver some artifacts. The odds were against him one night, when bandits attacked and nearly cost him his life. After that terrifying experience, Howard changed his ways. More tasks and experience later, Howard finally became a rowdy Cowboy.

That's when the rumors and myths come in. As a Cowboy, Howard probably achieved the "most interesting" life in the job.

He says he's wrangled with pokemon as dangerous as Krokoroks, Swamperts and Onixes.
Other times he stated he wrestled with Golems and Electabuzzes.
Apparently he also has punched Luxrays and Manectrics square in the face before.

Whether or not some of his accounts are true he still led a rather edgey life.

Aside from the myths, Howard has helped rescue people who lost their way or got stuck in the Saturos Canyon. He specializes in navigating and overall survival in the Canyon, which he uses to help travelling caravans carrying passengers or imports/exports. Once in a while Howard travels with Archaeologists or Researchers in the Canyon to ensure their safety.

To this day Howard retains those jobs, and he does it rather well.

>His body is covered in scars. Mostly from his time down in the Canyon- if you ask about it he will give you strange stories like 'This one scratch I got from accidentally stepping on an Elekitrik's tail' 'This other one? Oh just from wrangling a Krokorok'

Howard's pokemon incline towards the defensive, rescue and survival side. He doesn't battle with others often, but does enjoy an occasional spar.

LADY the old Salamence

Nature: Lax
Characteristic: Often Dozes Off
Ability: Intimidate
Moveset: Ember, Fly, Protect, Strength
Misc:
Lady is essentially, a giant cat in the form of a dragon. She often is sluggish in movements, except when doing a job. Unlike other Salamence, she is usually calm and mild. Howard adopted her from a shelter that closed down. For some reason, she cannot use any breath attacks other than Ember- which are just little flares.

>Howard adores her and affectionately calls her different feminine nouns like "Girl" "Lassie" "Ma'am" "Madam" "Missy" and so on- Lady actually responds, as she is used to getting called those.

CHOMPER the bombastic Krookodile

Characteristic: Likes to Run
Ability: Moxie
Moveset: Rock Tomb, Sandstorm, Rock Climb, Dig
Misc:
Chomper's the most energetic pokemon out of the trio. He is often restless and action-seeking. Chomper can get distracted easily, but he often does good when given a task. He's one of Howard's main attackers, though his speed is greater than his strength. Howard caught him as a Krokorok, after wrestling with him twice into submission. Now they're pals!

EDGIR "Popsicle" the helpful Rotom (Frost)

Nature: Docile
Characteristic: Impetuous and Silly
Ability: Levitate
Moveset: Blizzard, Telekinesis, Reflect, Flash
Misc:
Popsicle is a silly mon who likes to joke around and mess with people. "His" jokes are mostly harmless- though sometimes he accidentally hurts someone/something. Howard befriended him after getting down on the case: "Is my house haunted with a ghost". Popsicle chose to stay as a refrigerator primarily because of one day when Howard nearly had a heat stroke and collapsed on the floor in his house. Popsicle took control of his fridge and went to aid him. His form eventually helps countless other people Howard tags along with in their travels of the canyon.

>Howard uses Popsicle as his mobile Fridge, and Popsicle does not mind at all.
>At home Popsicle occasionally switches between appliances to help do simple chores that Howard gives him.
>Howard always appreciates Popsicle since the Rotom always strives to be of use in every situation. Little guy tries so hard!

TAHIR the quick and reliable Swellow

Misc:
Tahir is the ever so quiet companion of his. He is more of a partner to Howard than an actual friend, however they respect each other on a friendship level. When Howard doesn't need him Tahir is let free to wander around Terran Alto. Tahir is always serious, especially on the job. He helps scout for Howard in rescues and helps navigation by taking to the skies and receiving information quickly. Sometimes Howard also uses Tahir to hunt when needed. The bird is quite loyal and very capable.
